That awesome LifeStyle family album I mentioned...

Here is the link to one of my favorite LifeStyle albums ever!
These sessions are some of my favorites to do. Not a bunch of over-posed and static images. This is a natural and fun approach to capturing the real family. I always appreciate being welcomed into a family's life like this, and it is truly rewarding to be able to hand over albums they can, and do absolutely treasure. Did I mention I love doing LifeStyle sessions?

Just another awesome wedding album design...

Album designs always take way longer than I think they will. You'd think I would have learned by now. On the other hand, I rarely ever have to change anything after my clients review the design. So in the end, I think it's time well spent. I just finished this design and I love it. I'll post a spread here, but you can see the entire layout by clicking the title (link).

Orphan Brides

It sounds so sad...and it is.

This new phrase is catching on in the wedding photography industry. What's it all about, you ask?

It's an amusing phrase for what actually is an unfortunate situation. As more and more "shoot and burn" photographers continue to saturate the wedding photography market, they have left many a bride wondering what to do next regarding their wedding album.

Today's wedding albums offer so many options with regard to cover materials, style of design and other custom features. But, the photographers whose services are limited to photographing the event, handing a cd/dvd of the raw images to the client and walking away are doing them a major disservice.

There simply is no substitute for a well-designed, custom wedding album.

So, I am here to reach out to all you orphans, and tell you...there is hope! I've added album design services for clients where I did not do the photography. I will only do this when a release from the original photographer is provided.

Family Beach Portraits

These are some of my favorite images from a recent session with Brian, Tracey, and their kids. We arrived at Cape Henlopen just in time for the perfect sunset lighting. It's a beautiful quality of light, but it only lasts for about 20 minutes...at the most.I've photographed their family before, and designed an awesome family heirloom album (if I do say so myself). See it here: Family album

I've also photographed the other staff members at the The Jungle Gym
which I will post shortly.

The Family album - your first look!

Here at last, some images of the new book I'm offering. I'm also adding this to the wedding albums that I offer. They call it a "Fine Art Book" and it definitely is that. You can see the spreads, and the photo-cover that wraps from front to back (very cool). Check out the closeup shot and note how the crease between left and right sides is barely visible.

A family album like you've never seen!

If you've read previous posts, you may remember mention of a newer style of family portrait session. I spend several hours with a family while they do family things. The kids play by themselves, with each other, and with Mom and Dad. They do the everyday things that families do. The kind of things that we all did, reminisce about - and wish we'd taken more (or at least better) pictures of. I've just received my first book from a new company I've added to my offerings and it is BEAUTIFUL! The book is designed in "spreads", meaning I don't design a "left" and "right" page, I design both as one spread. They bind the book in a way where the center crease is barely perceptible. I'll post some images of the actual book shortly, but I wanted to try out posting a video. If it works, this is my second design...
